  17. It depends on the food. With many fruits and veggies we do as long as the price isn't totally outrageous. Strawberries, grapes, blueberries, spinach, and broccoli are usually ok priced as organics. Don't with things like bananas-- you peel them anyway!
    thanks

  21. We eat as much organic food as we can because of my allergies. I am allergic to several antibiotics and medications. We are also wary of the pesticides used by conventional growers as well as hormones given to livestock, and genetically modified foods.

  22. Some things we eat organic, but it is not in our budget to do everything organic (although we are blessed with cow/vegetable farmers in our family to help us eat healthy foods!)

  23. Yes, my family eats mainly organic foods. We have for over 20 years....way before it became more mainstream. For those times in between making my own baby food, I used to order organic baby food from California when my first child was born 21 years ago because you could not find organic baby food on the East Coast at that time.

I was fortunate to have met a group of people when I was in my teens that were informed and knowledgeable about organic foods. I read everything I could find on organics and the reasons why they were important....you have to remember there wasn't internet at that time, so it meant finding information through libraries and knowledgeable people that happened to have information from other countries or out west and were willing to share their reading materials with others.

As my children are becoming adults they are recognizing how much work and dedication it took for me to provide them with homemade and organic foods when they were young. It wasn't always easy for them when they were the only one at their lunch table with these strange foods packed by their mom. Now, they all have an appreciation and understanding that most of their friends do not about the importance of eating "whole, organic, non-genetically modified foods".
