My Living Room as the Coffeehouse

You might not have realized, but Saturday, September 29'th, was National Coffee Day. People everywhere were tipping up a cup of Joe in honor of the delicious coffee bean!
In our home coffee is celebrated every day. My husband growing up on the east coast is more of a drink it hot, strong and black kind of guy, where as I like my coffee with sugar/sweeteners and cream...and on ice.

I've been drinking International Delight Iced Coffee every since I noticed it in my grocery store cooler and purchased it for the first time. I was drawn to it because I love cold coffee drinks, and I thought it was a great value.
Once I tried International Delight Iced Coffee I was hooked, and I've been buying it every since. When I was offered the opportunity to host a coffeehouse party for MomCentral and introduce my friends and family to International Delight Iced Coffee, that Saturday didn't come fast enough!

I strung my coffee banner over my cabinets above our bar, and set up all the goodies below. With silly straws, coupons and some door prizes I  had purchased, the party was all set. Everyone loved the "Keep Calm and Drink Iced Coffee" picture. Hey, we've all those mornings where everything is chaos until we get our coffee fix. Am I right?

I invited lots of friends and family, and those who came for the party, were all excited to try out the 4 delicious flavors. Not having tasted the newest flavor Caramel Macchiato myself, it had to be the first we tasted. I have two words to describe this new flavor, Liquid Candy. The caramel taste is true to it's flavor, not bitter or giving an after taste, just creamy and sweet.
The next flavor we all tasted was Mocha, my morning tradition. Though everyone enjoyed the newest flavor, Mocha was overwhelmingly the favorite so far. Vanilla was up next, and there were a few guests who passed on tasting because..they were still enjoying the Mocha and wouldn't give it up! Last there was Coffee, the simple original flavor good for those who like it plain and sweet. I like this plain Coffee flavor, and have purchased it when my Mocha is sold out, but I go for the other flavors when I have the choice.

So here's the taste test break down:

Being silly with the comment sticks.
  1. Mocha~ The overwhelming favorite by all.
  2. Caramel Macchiato~ The choice for candy lovers. My 9 year old niece got her first taste of coffee, and she enjoyed this flavor.
  3. Vanilla~ Bumped down to my third choice since the new comer Caramel Macchiato stepped on the scene!
  4. Coffee~ This is a good standby when my favorites are missing from the cooler shelf. While we all thought it was good, for us the others were just better. You might disagree.

Everyone enjoyed bringing the coffeehouse to my living room, and getting to relax and visit over some delicious beverages. I was able to send a few home with some fun door prizes, and everyone received some great coupons to create their own coffeehouse experience at home.
