Oransi-Ionic Refrigerator Air Purifier {Review}

I received the product mentioned in this review free for the purpose of review, all views and opinions are my own honest evaluations.

I'm a realist when it comes to smells and sometimes life can really stink. I don't care who you are there has been a time when you've cracked your refrigerator door and a stinky odor has leaked out and you immediately gag and slam the door closed. What is that smell? You start to think over all the things you've put into your refrigerator over the last few days and you think to yourself nothing smelled like that! There are those foods that smell great when they are hot and fresh but just sitting in the fridge over night suddenly they take on a stink bomb effect...just waiting on the first victim who opens the door. God forbid it's you then you get to be the lucky one to throw it out and try not to puke. Yes, I'm being dramatic..but just a little bit. Our fridge always has one smell or another from our leftovers to the newest groceries certain foods smell stronger than others and it's not always bad. Some food smell delicious and inviting. That's why we seem to keep making the trek back to the fridge late in the night..am I right?

When offered the chance to review the Oransi Ionic Air Purifier for the Refrigerator I wondered why you would need an air purifier in your fridge, but I thought sure why not? Purified air is good.
I was wrong. Purified air in your fridge is amazing and it's also nothing at all..no smell at all. Good or bad my fridge smells the same every time I open the door just clean fresh air. A breath of fresh air..literally.

The Ionic Air Purifier for the Refrigerator arrived in a small box and required 2-AA batteries. It took me just a few moments to install the batteries push the power button and place it in our fridge. The simple packaging boasts these wonderful features:
  • Eliminates food odors in your refrigerator.
  • Kills bacteria.
  • Reduces food spoilage.
  • Prevents mildew.
  • Sterilizes fridge every 2 hours.
  • Neutralizes stale and foul odors with fresh air inside refrigerators and closets.
So from what I can tell the air purifier works. I have no way of knowing if it's killing bacteria or sterilizing my fridge, but the air smells fresh that I know for sure. I like it's compact design and that it isn't noisy you can only hear it when you hold it right up to your ear(which I did). It has a simple orange power light that comes on when it's first turned on. The unit will run for 30 minutes at first then will cycle only running for 5 minutes every half hour. The packaging states that battery life should run your unit for about 2 months. I'm sure the type of batteries you use makes a difference too. We haven't had this air purifier for 2 months yet, but so far it's working great! Great for our fridge this air purifier could also be used in shoe cabinets (if you're lucky enough to have one of those) or I was thinking this would be great for a school or gym locker. Any small enclosed place that might need the air purified.

When I open our fridge and I don't smell anything but fresh clean air..it's a good thing.  Thanks, Oransi!

  5. I would love to have this to make our fridge smell better. I think it smells because we eat so much produce.

  6. I really need this. Our kids are grown & it's just my husband & I at home now. We don't really keep that much food in the house, but our refrigerator gets this horrid odor about ever other month & I cannot figure out what it is. I've torn it apart & bleached it, I've used vinegar in it, I keep baking soda in it. I don't know what it's problem is, but maybe the Oransi Fridge Air purifier would nip it in the bud!

  7. This would be great. We have a lot of fresh vegetables and they seem to suck in the foul smells.

  10. I think this would work well for me, my solution for bad odors in my home is usually air but you can't really do that with the fridge.

  12. I would love to have one of these! We have foods that just absorb all of the other smells in the fridge and the boys are horrible at labeling or remembering when they put something in the fridge!

  13. I would love to win this as I love to cook especially meals which contain a lot of onions, garlic and green peppers. I use baking soda now but it just never really takes the smells away.
