CHANNELLOCK - A Review Even Dad Can Appreciate

I was given these tools free for the purpose of review. All views and opinions are my own honest evaluations.  See Disclosure.
Well Father's day has come and gone and I had hoped this review and giveaway would be ready for all the dads out there who happen to stop by the island. As life would have it my husband had to swing to a night shift and we didn't get the chance to use these awesome tools given to us by CHANNELLOCK in time for the holiday. So now I'm excited to write about our experience using these high quality pliers and wire strippers, and give you a chance to win them even if it is after Father's day.

My last job before leaving the workforce to have the Booper was at a home improvement store. While working customer service at that store I learned so many things about DIY home projects. I would hear the horror stories from customers who thought they knew how to hang a door, or put in a toilet, or as in one case with a young couple who had all the trim pre-cut to the wrong size. We've all been there. It can be so frustrating to be in the middle of a project and realize you made a mistake or you just don't have the right tools for the job. On the other hand standing at the desk with contractors they would chat about a job and what tools they were needing and I started to pick up on the lingo. One of the tool names I heard mentioned over and over....CHANNELLOCK. To be honest it took me a while to know it was a brand and not just one tool. Don't laugh but I really thought to myself at one point Channellocks must be really important people seem to need them for every job. Now I know they really do. I loved it when I had been working at the store for over a year and I was able to answer easy questions on my own, and it was really cool when I could put my knowledge into use at our own house.

As many of you know we have an old home built back in 1910. We've been working on several projects to improve our home and our life. This past spring we were able to have a garage built. Hooray! It was a large project and we had someone build it for us. Once the garage was built though my husband (an electrician) was able to put in the wiring with a small amount of my help. Little by little I learn more about the wiring and how it works. While I'm not ready to do it by myself, I'm good at helping. What is something I've learned while helping my husband? Having a good pair of wire strippers is so important! My husband wired in all the outlets and fixtures I cut and prepped wire for him. I don't have a lot of muscle strength in my hands, but I was able to cut through the heavy gauge wiring with the Channellock diagonal cutting pliers with no problem. My husband using the cutting pliers cut through the wiring like butter. Forged from American high carbon steel for durability and made with a soft rubberized blue handles for easy grip even for my hands. Pulling and phishing wiring through the walls of our old home was quite a job, and I'm so happy to say now we have the perfect tools for the job.
