When it comes to cooking I really don't mind doing the work and sometimes I even enjoy it. When it comes to clean up after a big meal..well my level of enjoyment goes way down. I'm a huge fan of one-dish meals or finding ways to simplify my time in the kitchen. The next product I can't wait to share with you on our Holiday Gift Guide comes from Tabletops Unlimited. This porcelain enamel cast-iron dutch oven has all the makings of the perfect tool for one-dish meals.
Tabletops Unlimited has many different choices for dutch ovens, but this one from the DENMARK line caught my eye with it's bright red color and the design. I love the way the handles curve up giving the cook easy grip and white interior was also nice simply because it made my food colors pop at the table enticing my family to the flavors I had put together for them. This dish is so nice because it can go straight from the oven to the table and with the bright colors available they make nice pieces to serve guests. I'm in love with the porcelain enamel since it made clean up a breeze unlike a traditional cast-iron dutch oven I didn't have to worry about washing and drying.
Dutch Oven Johnny Chops

What you will need:
  • Bone-in Pork Chops
  • 3 Apples- you know like Johnny Appleseed!
  • Butternut Squash
  • Crushed Pineapple
  • Thyme
  • Sage
  • Allspice
  • Maple Syrup (optional)
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees then layer in your dutch oven, pork chops spice to taste with Thyme and Sage. Pour crushed pineapple over the pork chops spread out evenly then add chopped apples and diced squash. Sprinkle allspice over everything and drizzle with Maple syrup if desired.

Bake for approximately 60-80 minutes. Serve with green beans and voila! Johnny Chops even Mr. Appleseed would approve of! This meal requires very little prep time and can be ready in the fridge so you just place in the oven when you come home.

The self basting lid on this dutch oven from Tabletops Unlimited was amazing all the juices from the foods will condensate on top of the lid then hit the little beads and drip back down onto your foods keeping them moist and delicious.  I highly recommend this 6 quart dutch oven from DENMARK to anyone from a novice cook to a pro. Find this and many more great tools for your kitchen at Tabletops Unlimited!

  63. What a clever name for this recipe! I bought a bunch of pork loin on sale a couple weeks ago & split them up into FOUR huge roasts! This will be a great recipe for one of those roasts, I'll just slice it up into chops & use them! Thank you! Love apples with pork!!!!

  64. We are always looking for different ways to prepare pork chops!

  65. When I saw the word pork, my fingers stopped swishing! My husband has to have pork at least once a week!!
This is where the empty nesting gets hard!
He loves pork and I don't! When the kids were home or at times, when the family stops by, he makes sure he has his chops, roasts, loins, whatever else cuts of pork there are! Of course, I made pork back then, because there were more people to enjoy the meal with. But even though I don't eat pork, I am still looking for different ways to prepare it. This recipe actually sounds good to me!! I won't mind making this for my honey - he does a lot for me! The cleanup gets on my nerves, especially when I have to use a lot of pots, dishes etc. 15 minutes to eat - 2 hours?? to prepare, cook, serve & whatever else is involved! Just the thought of that mess makes me not want to cook meals again! Especially after many years of cooking and cleanup already! At times, it just feels like I am being punished! Sorry, I know it sounds corny! Plus it is actually cheaper for us to eat out & cleaner 😜👍🏻
