It's funny how the saying goes as American as apple pie or baseball, but for our family pizza is tradition. Pizza is a staple in our home and it just never gets old. The great thing about making homemade pizza is you can keep your whole family happy by making personal sized pizzas for each person's taste. I love chicken on my pizza. I remember the first time my husband got me to try pizza using toppings other than just pepperoni and sausage. I wasn't so sure about the idea or how chicken on pizza would taste, but since then I've been braver and now I'm trying my hand at making my own creations. Our family loves barbecue sauce but when I think of barbecue sauce I typically think of ribs or pulled pork. I wanted to take two things our family loves barbecue sauce and pizza and put them together for a tasty meal we would all enjoy. Today, I'm going to show you how I used KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce to make delicious pizza in just fifteen minutes!

Let's get started!
Ingredients:
  • KC Masterpiece Original Barbecue Sauce
  • Chicken (2 or 3 Breasts) These were grilled in advance.
  • Pizza Crust ( I used ready-made to save time)
  • 1 Onion Chopped
  • Cheese (I used Parmesan and Mozzarella)

Please note: This recipe is so simple you'll be planning pizza night at least once a week. Plus- if you have picky eaters in your home you'll be able to easily change up the toppings to suit them. I did use pre-cooked chicken so if you don't have prepared chicken you'll need to add 20 minutes to your prep time. I like to grill chicken in large batches then pull it from the freezer as needed for quick meals like this one.

Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 425.
Brush your pizza pan with olive oil if desired or use a nonstick pan. Place your pizza crusts on your pan. Spoon barbecue sauce over dough and spread to the edges. Sprinkle with desired amount of cheese. Sprinkle chopped onion. Add pre-grilled chicken and brush with additional sauce this helps keep your chicken moist and adds more barbecue deliciousness! Bake for 10-12 minutes or until cheese is melted. Pull from the oven slice and enjoy!

Careful the sauce will be hot and sweet you may feel the urge to lick your fingers!
