Kid's Academy $100 Amazon Sweepstakes

I was compensated for this post through Mom Buzz Media. Sponsor is responsible for prizing.
I don't know about your kids, but the Booper loves playing Apps on my phone or tablet. We've downloaded several fun Apps and a couple learning Apps too. Now I'm excited to introduce you to the Kid's Academy App! Kid's Academy is an educational App helping children learn verbal, writing and math skills in an easy and fun manner. Apps such as 123 Tracing and Bingo ABC have been top-50 educational apps in the App Store, and Kid’s Academy has also brought the well-known stories and nursery rhymes The Three Little Pigs and Five Little Monkeys to life through interactive apps. The simple interfaces of the apps allow children to take the reins and play on their own, but the sing-a-longs and other activities are perfect for parent or teacher engagement as well. Research has shown that singing along with nursery rhymes has cognitive and physical benefits for children. Not only are children learning new words and the context in which to use them, but they're also strengthening tongue and mouth muscles at an early age which will help with pronunciation skills.

Sound fun? Take a moment to download the FREE App, then write a review during the month of August 2014 and be entered for the $100 Amazon sweepstakes! Learn more below.

Dress For School Success With

This post is sponsored by, all views and opinions are my own. See Disclosure.
This being the Booper's first year to go to school I feel like a newbie mom! The Booper will be attending a private school where they offer a half day K-4 program. There are several reasons we chose to send him to the school he'll be attending, but the fact that they require uniforms didn't influence our decision. I know some people take a strong stand on uniforms versus no uniforms at school, but I've never really thought it made much difference. Being that I come from a homeschool family, I guess I never considered uniforms to matter much in the learning process. What I do believe is this, you can dress for success. I know when I feel I look my best my confidence is higher and it's no different for kids. Having new clothes for school makes the Booper excited to get started.

The Octonauts are back in action with their latest adventure Calling All Sharks! The Booper was surprised when this arrived in the mail, he couldn't wait to watch the team. He kept asking, "Does this have sharks?" This was perfect timing because he's been really interested in sharks lately asking us all kinds of questions about them and other marine animals. Once again the Octonauts have pulled off a timely movie to ignite the minds of children and encourage them to explore nature and learn something new.

"More Milk Please!" With MilkSplash {Review and Giveaway}

I received the below mentioned products and compensation in exchange for this post.
All views and opinions are my own honest evaluations. Sponsor is responsible for prize fulfillment. See Disclosure.
We go through lots of milk in our house. I've always loved milk and usually drink a glass or finish off the milk in my bowl after cereal every day. Our whole family loves milk and we buy a gallon of whole and a gallon of skim once a week. The Booper still drinks whole milk since his doctor recommended he continue drinking it since he's at a healthy weight. He will drink milk without flavoring, but now he loves to add in MilkSplash for a special treat.

Dreams We Want To Have: The Booper Reel

Since returning to the outside workforce I've had huge feelings of guilt and regret for leaving the Booper at night. My husband is perfectly capable to take care of our little man, but this was not how I envisioned our life going. I planned to be with the Boop until he started school then I would always be home when he was. Even though I know the Booper will always love me just the same I go through rough moments where I question if he understands that I wish I could stay home with him at night. This morning when I got up we were in the kitchen and he was helping me get my coffee going(he loves putting the k-cup into the Keurig for me) we had this conversation:

Booper: I'm just sad this morning mommy.

Me: Why are you sad?

Booper: Because I didn't dream about you last night.

Me: You wanted to dream about me?

Booper: Yes, I told myself to have a good dream but my dreams didn't listen.

Me: Well we can't control our dreams.

Booper: But I missed you while I was sleeping because I didn't dream about you.

Me: You don't have to dream about me now, I'm here.

Booper: It's a good day now mom!

Me: You're right!

Melt my heart.
Melt my guilt.
Melt my fears.
Melt my dreams into something new.
Working outside or in the home, I'm happy to be this sweet boy's mom.
The stuff dreams are made of.

Save Money On Doctor Visits With Doctor On Demand

This is a sponsored conversation on behalf of Doctor on Demand, all opinions are my own. Sponsor is responsible for prize fulfillment. See Disclosure.
I've often wondered while getting ready to leave for a trip to the doctor why we ever stopped having home visits from the doctor. Wouldn't it be great to stay in your pajamas when you're sick and have a doctor treat you while you sit in your lazy boy chair? I'm not so lazy that I don't want to leave my house, but sometimes when I'm sick I barely feel like getting out of bed. Being a mom what's even worse is having to drag my child along with me to the doctor and subject him to all the germs of the waiting area. There's a new App that gave me an ah-ha moment it's called Doctor On Demand. Someone has obviously had the same thoughts I've had and created the solution. Now talking with a doctor is as easy as picking up your phone!

Bringing Cherished Books To Life! Ivy Kids Subscription Box

I received the following subscription box for review from Ivy Kids, all views and opinions are my own. See Disclosure.
I'm not sure but sometimes I think I love children's books better than adult books. All the wonder of the world with whimsical illustrations children's books really are the best. It's funny how children love to read the same books over and over again. Can you imagine reading the same book as an adult 5, 6 or 100 times in a day? Kids learn through repetition and it's great for parents to indulge in the process by giving their child a reason to read more. We recently were given the July subscription box from Ivy Kids. This was a subscription box I couldn't wait to receive! Unlike so many children's sub boxes Ivy Kids sub box includes the book!

Gliding Through Summer With Brylane Home

I received the following item free for the purpose of review, all views and opinions are my own honest evaluations. See Disclosure.
I grew up in the country. There is just a part of me that will always be a country girl no matter where I live. I loved sitting outside on warm Summer nights and enjoying the sounds of frogs, crickets and occasional coyotes-okay so the coyotes not so much. Everything just seemed so peaceful when you're relaxing outside with family or friends somehow the world seems to stand still even if it's just for a moment. Since we live in town with the Booper I've always worried he'll miss out on some of the outdoor fun I had growing up, but I think he's inherited some of my "country" ways. He loves to go barefoot! He loves playing with sticks..or maybe that's just a boy thing? He loves playing with the garden hose and helping to water the flowers and garden. He loves sitting on our new Double Glider!

Back To School Savings With

I will receive a promotional item in exchange for this post. All views and opinions are my own. See Disclosure.
It's hard to believe that we're already talking back to school, but here we go again! This is the first year that I will be shopping for school supplies for my own son! I've shopped for my niece and nephew, friends and even did a charity shop for the school where I volunteer, but this year is special. The Booper is four and will go be going to a private school for a K-4 preschool program. I'm a bit anxious about him attending school, but I'm excited for us to start school shopping for all his supplies. Being a thrifty mom I know I'll be using my printable coupons from for food to make school lunches but I'll also be searching for promo codes to stack with sales to snatch the best bargain on school clothes.

Celebrate National Zookeepers Week With Books!

It's the perfect time of year to take your child to the zoo and discover new animals. This year in lieu of a birthday gift we asked for zoo passes from my parents. Visiting our local zoo is a thrill for me, I'm close to animals I may never see in their natural habitat. Teaching the Booper about animals is more fun when he can see them for himself. Learning an appreciation for all the care being given to feed, shelter and help the zoo animals thrive the Booper learns the first steps to conservation. When he learns about all the work the zookeepers do each day he wants to say a big thank you to all the zookeepers! With National Zookeepers week being July 20-26 it's the perfect time to visit your local zoo and share your gratitude with an employee. We're thrilled to celebrate zookeepers by offering our readers a fun children's book giveaway! Enter our giveaway below then hop along and enter for more books on the other fabulous sites!

Paige's Book Shelf: Impetus By Scott Sullivan

While being a post-apocalyptic thriller, "Impetus" is set ten years after the catastrophe, in a post impact world. This is different from the genres current mid-catastrophe theme most post-apocalyptic novels carry these days. Don't get me wrong, I love the mid-conflict driven books, but Scott Sullivan has given us action with a twist. (Something not so expected)

Celebrate Liberty With U.S. of Awesome Tshirts

I received the below mentioned products in exchange for this post, all views and opinions are my own. See Disclosure.
Being born and raised in the midwest, I had no choice but to be patriotic and love this wonderful country we call home. Being born in July I always felt I had a unique love for fireworks since my parents used to save some fireworks back for my birthday. July is a great time of year for me since my dad's side of the family loves to gather together at my aunt's house for food and fireworks on the fourth. Remembering how we gained our country's independence and celebrating is a special time and supporting our country is as easy as buying products made right here. With so many jobs being outsourced and sent to other places, it's sometimes hard to find products made here. This July fourth we're happy to tell you about U.S. of Awesome and their patriotic t-shirts for the whole family.
