Hands On Valentine's Day Fun With HearthSong

I received products mentioned below in exchange for this post. Sponsor is responsible for prize fulfillment.
Time spent with the ones you love is time well spent. As I get older that statement becomes more and more true for me. Spending time with my children is priceless. The Booper will be turning seven years old soon, and I'm still coming to terms with the fact he'll never be my toddler again. Time is split between the kids these days, so I have work to make quality time for just the Booper and I to spend together. He's always been excited to make crafts with me, so this Valentine's Day we made a party of it with the help of HearthSong.
I've found that if I want to get him to really talk to me our hands have to be busy, and that's when he really opens up. Valentine's Day could never be complete without hearts and doilies! We used the HearthSong Valentine Kit to create special cards for our sweethearts. He worked hard with the gel pens and drew some pictures on a card for his dad, then quickly squirreled it away to his room to hide until he can give it to his dad.
A party wouldn't be complete without a special treat, so we made some kid-friendly chocolate dipped strawberries. Delicious doesn't have to complicated! These sweet berries were just the right skill level for a six year old and just the right taste for a thirty-something year old! Yum! Now we moved to make some decorations for our celebration. I'm not sure why but making paper chains was a favorite of mine as a child. I guess some things never change because I found making our paper chains so relaxing as an adult. With the Paper Chain Kit from HearthSong there was no measuring or cutting involved and the paper patterns were adorable. I think our chain turned out really nice to hang over our fireplace. Now we just have to keep little miss from pulling it down.
If you're looking to connect with your child and create some fun hands on memories together then check out the vast selection of toys and craft kits at HearthSong.
