Perfectly Maggie is a great book to help children through these sensitive times. It allows kids to distinguish their differences from the peers and helps to recognize why it is okay to be unlike their schoolmates. The book goes on to demonstrate examples of relatable situations where Maggie is unlike her siblings. It also illustrates how she questions things that she cannot change about herself, such as her appearance. The book encourages children to embrace themselves for who they are and to be kind to others.
Do you keep a bedtime routine with your children? Does it involve reading books together?
