Happy New Year! In many ways 2022 was not a good year for my family, however, when I change my perspective it was a fabulous year. Back in January 2022, my husband called me from the parking lot at his work to tell me he was short of breath. I told him to hang up and call 911. Once he sat in his car he felt a bit better so he said he would just come home. As soon as he walked in the door, I clipped our pulse oximeter on his finger and his oxygen level was 84 sitting still. We called our doctor who told us to get to the ER immediately. Jim had a pulmonary embolism, it's the type they call a saddle clot or as the nurse called it "the widow maker." I could see fear in the ER doctor's eyes as he told us they would try to get him a bed at a bigger hospital that could help him. As they loaded Jim onto the ambulance the EMT patted my shoulder and said they would try their best to get him to the next hospital alive. I don't think I've ever been that scared. Long story short, Jim had a catheter procedure that broke apart the deadly clot, and was able to come home to our family! He had a lengthy recovery to get his lungs and body feeling back to normal, but he is still with us! This past year could have been so much worse so I'm counting my blessings and looking forward to spending more time with Jim and our kids in 2023! Celebrate the new year with us and enter for a chance to win $100! What did 2022 teach you? What are you thankful for about 2022? I'd love to hear how your year went.
