Shimmer and Shine Teaches Kids You Can Fix Your Mistakes

Sometimes it can be hard to find good programming for the Booper and something we can agree on. I like to find shows that not only entertain, but ones teach him valuable lessons too. He loves to watch Shimmer and Shine. I have to admit the bright colors and happy characters are fun to watch, but when I started watching along with him one day I discovered much more to their stories. Every episode has a new challenge as the genies make mistakes, but discover ways to fix them. Nickelodeon's Shimmer and Shine releases their latest stories  Shimmer and Shine: Welcome to Zahramay Falls  and will be available on DVD August 16! No matter what kinds of trouble comes their way, Shimmer, Shine and Leah show preschoolers that persistence and resilience always save the day.

  1. One mistake I had to fix yesterday was when I was cooking lunch and had both ovens preheating. I ended up putting the wrong food item in the wrong oven at the wrong temperature but quickly discovered it before it started to burn.

  2. I have had to fix cooking mistakes many times - forgetting an ingredient in a recipe and then remembering to add it later, etc.

  5. I had to fix an order for my daughter's wedding gift that I didn't get right so that I had the wedding gifts that I wanted to give her.

  12. We need to remember not all mistakes can be fixed, but we need to fix the ones we can. I missed a deadline at work because I had the dates confused. I fixed it by staying late and finishing the project.

  13. For some reason I keep thinking of cooking mistakes! I made Chili once and forgot the beans....my kids thought it was soup! lol! Went to the oven to get the casserole and I had put it in the fridge instead...duh!
