Smooth Sailing

Smooth Sailing
I've found that there are days when everything just flies along so smooth, and life is a breeze. Then I wake up. Ha ha! Life isn't always a breeze, but there are things I can do to help make things move along better. I can have days where it's smooth sailing. I've never been on a sail boat, but it looks like you have to know what you are doing. At least if you want to go in the right direction! If your like me, then you want all of your days to move in the right direction. This page is for all the things that keep my family moving in the right direction. Those things that make our days...Smooth Sailing!

Manic Mondays
Sometimes the hardest thing to do in the morning is just get up and get everyone dressed for the day. Right now my little guy loves to get dressed, especially if it means we are going bye bye. My job of getting him ready is easy enough, if his clothes are clean. I have a little problem of never having two things that go together clean at the same time. He has a cute shirt, but the pants somehow crawled under his bed on laundry day. Nothing matches. I found the cutest solution to our problem. This handy dandy daily organizer hangs on the back of his bedroom door. I can quickly see what he has clean, and it gives me a better idea of when to do his laundry. I love how it has a nice size pocket for his outfit, so it will work for his larger clothes as he grows. The smaller sock pouch is so handy. When can you ever find clean matching socks in a hurry?
I bought this hanging organizer from here! You can get it personalized with your child's name on the top. This organizer helps to make our Mondays Smooth Sailing!

  1. Hey! This looks like it is working out really well. I was thinking it would work to have something like this for the school work for my homeschool student. I could use it to put in books and extra supplies I might need for each day. My little file folders don't always hold everything.

    I have tried this with My daughters clothes and it works great! I know what ever they pick they will be matching ! I do not care what day they pick at all just as long as they do not mix and match the clothes! They have tried!

  40. I have hanging sweater shelf 'thing' that I use, but it's a lot larger than this one. Much nicer, and takes up less space, which is at a premium in a one-bedroom apartment

    ReplyDelete
  41. This is such a great organizer! I will definitely keep this in mind once my daughter starts going to school every day, I think this could be a real time saver if we could pick out her outfits every Sunday night!

  42. I have a old shoe bag that hangs up like this and its what I use to help me keep organized for the week,,
    @tisonlyme143

  43. Great idea! I used the same shoe bag idea for a baby gift. It was fun to shop and fill all the pockets, then I just rolled it up and tied a bow around it.

  50. My daughter was much better about knowing where her things were than my son ever was. She also knew how to put an outfit together whereas my son...sigh. From 3rd grade till he entered high school were the lost years of clothes and fashion.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I love your idea here and I actually have a few daughters who are doing this for there children.
    @tisonlyme143

    ReplyDelete
  52. I think this is a great way for your child to become involved by letting him or her choose her outfit and put it in each of the pockets!

    ReplyDelete
  53. This would be great for travel, you could just roll it up and plop it in a suitcase and it's ready to hang at your destination. (I used this idea for a baby gift too, so much fun shopping for gifts..when full...just rolled and mailed off!)

    ReplyDelete
  54. such a great way to get organized, i go to work early and this would save me some time

  59. This is a great idea, my sister and I would have loved knowing about this one when her kids were little. We used to look everywhere for missing socks, favorite pants, etc. It was amazing what all I would find after they went home from staying the week. The oldest one now has his own little one so I'll be passing this tip on. Thanks for sharing!

  60. I know some kids that could use this for their bedrooms.

  61. A couple of my grandkids have bags like these for their shoes and a couple for clothes. I thought they got them to just keep
    their clothes in like a space saver. But as they got older, they did use them to have their clothes ready for the week. They told me by doing this, it saved them more time in the am, to make sure their clothes were clean, and they don't wear the same thing that week. There is a method for their madness which I give them credit for! 👏🏻

  62. This is a very nice way to help kids get ready in the mornings so that they can have some independence around getting dressed. Makes life easier for everyone.

  72. This organization tip takes "finding clothes the night before" to a better direction. Not having the whole outfit together at the same time is a common problem. This will definitely help a lot. I will be able to see who has what clean & ready at the same time. Thanks for sharing your tip.

  73. This would have been great when my kids were in elementary school. I'll have to remember this tip!

  78. I have many baby nieces and nephews. I would love this for them.

  79. I didn’t have any sons. We have four grandsons. We did have four daughters and eleven granddaughters. The reason why I mentioned this is because my daughters were really self-conscious about their outfits. Everything had to be cleaned and match! I did notice tthough that my grandsons didn’t really care about if their clothes wee cleaned or matched until they got to high school age and wanted to date. Otherwise, I would have been in the same predicament as you were in your article. Thank you for sharing!

    ReplyDelete
  85. What a great idea. Both of my grand kids need this!

    ReplyDelete
  86. This is a good idea. Combining organizing with visual cues is always helpful, plus it gives you space to let your kids make some choices--what goes where, which days are for which things, etc.
