Autism Community Store $50 Giveaway

Did you know April is Autism Awareness Month?
From time to time you'll see me posting about autism, learning abilities and anything education related. I come from a family of teachers and that instilled in me a passion for understanding how people learn. Because of that passion, I feel a personal responsibility to advocate for children and adults living with autism. There's a major shift in the discussion about autism as many are aware but few people understand. This month I hope to help others by sharing my compassion for families that are living with autism and to move past awareness and on to understanding. From the parents in my circles that have children with autism, I've learned it can be quite expensive buying all the products and services to benefit their child. As a parent,  I can relate to the struggle of working to give your child every resource available. That's why I joined up with a great group of bloggers by chipping in for a useful prize to support families living with autism.
The Autism Community Store is a parent-owned autism and special needs resource, a special little shop helping families, teachers and therapists get hard-to-find products for kids with ASD, PDD-NOS, Aspergers, SPD, ADHD and other special needs at reasonable prices. Our autism shop has the autism supplies our kids need to learn, play, feel good and get better. And products that solve common problems at home – sleep, safety, hygiene and more, the Autism Community Store is your source for therapist-tested, kid-approved autism products.

  9. My one and only child Andrew, who is Three years old, has Autism. He is on the lower side of the spectrum, which some may call high functioning Autism. The Sensory Processing part seems to be the hardest thing about it. Not wanting to change his clothes, rapid spinning, stemming by rocking forward and back, and repetitive speech. We are currently working with a develmental specialist to be able to handle this in the best way possible. I'd Absolutely love to have a $50 gift certificate to the Autism Community Store! Thanks so much for the opportunity!
