When I found out that our second child was going to be a girl, I was excited to think of all the fun we would have together. I wasn't sure if she would like painting her toenails like I do, but I had hoped as she got older she would like doing at-home mani-pedis. It was long before she started asking for all things pink, and she wanted to paint her nails like me. She was old enough to express her excitement to use nail polish but she was still young enough that she was still putting things in her mouth. I was nervous she might chew her nails and end up swallowing the nail polish. I had read about Piggy Paint from another blog review and I instinctively knew I had to get the natural nail polish. We were excited to get some new Piggy Paint nail polish colors in time for the holidays and have the opportunity to share this fun brand with you on our 2019 Holi-YAY Gift Guide!
Piggy Paint Beginnings
Mom Melanie Hurley was painting her daughters’ nails one day over a Styrofoam plate to catch any drips. She noticed the nail polish melted a hole right through the plate!
She thought to herself, “Gosh, if it eats through a plate within minutes, then what is it doing to my daughter?!” (You know how kids always put fingers in their mouths!) This “ah-ha” moment inspired her to seek an eco-friendly alternative and when she could not find one, Piggy Paint was born!
