Today I'm going to highlight two toys from Patch that I think are perfect gifts for the little ones on your holiday shopping list. Patch Toys is a family owned business started in 1985 and they have a name well known for great games such as Farkle and Wooly Willy. Let's get started and meet the myPad from the Mirari line. When it comes to electronics no one is more attracted to them than toddlers! If they see mom and dad playing with a tablet or a phone they want one too. When I was first introduced to the myPad from Mirari at Blogher13 in Chicago I smiled at the genius of making a tablet just for little hands. For this review we had to enlist the help of the adorable Miss A my best friend's darling little girl. We pulled the myPad from the bag to show Miss A and she immediately started pressing the buttons and wanted it out of the package to play.
She was so cute as she pressed the arrow keys to move the lights around the screen and her reactions to some of the sounds was priceless. Yes I'm smitten with Miss A's adorableness, and she seemed smitten with her new toy tablet. Made for ages 12 months and up Miss A is the perfect age to play. With this 9.5" myPad the fun starts by moving the arrows around to any of the 20 lighted square pictures, the 40 different sounds keep this tablet exciting and makes for some great discovery play. I love that this toy is self contained so Miss A's mommy can easily pack it for trips or just to keep Miss A entertained while in the car. Light enough so little ones can carry it around we noticed Miss A walk back and pick up her myPad to play several times while visiting. Retailing for $26.99 it's really a small price to pay to keep those little hands busy at play on their own tablet! Batteries included.
Music has always been a part of our family which might be why the Booper fell in love with the Pop! Pop! Piano. This action toy instrument is designed for children ages 12 months and up, but the Booper is almost four and he has played with this little piano for hours. I think what makes this toy so fun is the cause and effect action. When you press the keys the colorful jacks pop! There is a clear guard that comes attached but as your child gets a little older you can remove it for more ways to play. Our little man removed the guard within minutes of me finally letting him open the package when I realized he had already laid claim to the piano in his mind. He never had a toddler piano and it made me smile to see how proud he was playing the little keys on this one. With six different keys and colorful jacks this piano is fun to use with the keyboard notes or flip the switch on the bottom for silly sound effects. At first the Booper was all about the sound effects then after a couple days he switched and now he loves having it on the keyboard sounds. Over time he's started experimenting with putting different small toys in the top of the piano and watching them bounce out as he plays. If your child is drawn to music or loves action they're going to love the Pop! Pop! Piano from Mirari. Judging by how much my little guy plays with this toy the age range makes this toy a keeper. Retailing for $24.99 the Pop! Pop! Piano requires 3xAA batteries which are not included.
Whether you have a Beethoven in the making or little Techie the Pop! Pop! Piano or the myPad from Mirari are sure to make your child's holiday wish list. Be sure to follow Patch on Facebook and Twitter.
