  17. My Favorite childhood memory is the year my sister & I got Cabbage Patch dolls. They were so expensive (we were poor) and every girl wanted one so they were almost impossible to find. My parents were divorced & we were surprised by the Christmas box that came from our Dad that had 1 for each of us.... I think we looked at those dolls butt cheeks for hours (real ones had Xavier Robert's signature on their butt). <3

    1. What a fun memory! My sister and I both got Cabbage Patch travel dolls one year. My grandmother owned a resale shop and it happened that someone brought them in to sell otherwise we wouldn't have ever got them. I still have the doll and the passport that came with it! :)

  51. My favorite Thanksgiving memory involved my brother, who is no longer living. My parents were out of town, and my brother had to work as a cook on Thanksgiving. After he got off work, we took a spur-of-the-moment road trip, on about a 1 1/2 hour each way drive to the Mountain House, for a homestyle Thanksgiving meal, complete with turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, pie, and the highlight was their amazing wild rice stuffing! On the way home, it snowed enough that I probably should have been carrying traction devices in my car, but I was young and a bit foolish at that time...LOL!

  84. My sister was born on the Fourth of July. My parents left to go to the hospital as a lot of the firework celebrations were being let out. They had a police escort after they were pulled over for driving on the wrong side of the road. She came about 10 minutes after arriving at the hospital. Every year after that my parents have told this story and my sister thought for a long time that the fireworks were for her. Now we are grown up and her young children think this.

We believed he was Santa Claus.. and as we got older, we would watch him do it for the little kids and see the magic of Christmas in the little kids eyes and the pure joy in my Uncles eyes. I wish he was still here .. it's memories like this that I cherish. <3
